Afghanistan Human Rights Advocates (AHRA) was founded in 2023 by a group of Afghan human rights advocates in exile. It is registered as a non-profit organization in Virginia, USA.
AHRA's team comprises of experienced and well-known human rights lawyers and practitioners with proven track records in Afghanistan and internationally. For the safety of our staff and their families, some of whom are still inside the country, we withhold their names at this time.
AHRA believes in the power of collaboration and partnership to achieve its mission of promoting and protecting human rights in Afghanistan. To achieve its objectives, the organization establishes partnerships with national and international organizations, civil society groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders. AHRA works closely with local and international partners to leverage their expertise, resources, and networks in its advocacy and programmatic work.
AHRA's partnerships are based on shared values and objectives, mutual respect, and trust. The organization seeks to establish long-term, strategic partnerships with donors and funding agencies that align with its mission and goals. AHRA also works closely with local partners and communities to ensure that its programmatic and advocacy work is grounded in the local context and responsive to the needs of Afghan communities.
